1942 (Age 18): Graduated HS in Woodstock, IL, writing 140 wpm—her peers were writing 80-100 wpm.
1942–43: Attended Gregg College, hit 160 wpm in 3 months, and graduated at 200 wpm, completing the 2-year program in just 13 months.
1943–45: Worked as a freelance court reporter in Detroit.
1946–48: (Age 22) Joined the Nuremberg War Crimes Trials as an official reporter. Post-
1948: Official shorthand reporter in the Denver District Court.
1969 (Age 45): Achieved 260 wpm, earning the NCRA Certificate of Merit.
1972–82: (Ages 48-58) Chief Reporter of Debates, U.S. House of Representatives (also served in the Senate).
2005 (Age 81): Published Doctors from Hell, her firsthand account of the Nuremberg medical trials.
2010 (Age 86): Vivien shared her experiences in several interviews. In one, she discusses how she began with Gregg Shorthand.
2014, April 1st, died at age 90.
